Meet the Staff of the Wholistic Health Center



Marianne Helm

Owner, Director

Marianne co-founded the WHC in 1986 after serving as Executive Director of Sheboygan Wellness Association for five years. She is the CEO of Wholistic Health Counseling Services, LLC and Wholistic Health Center, LLC and guides the growth and development of the Center. Marianne is a wellness educator. She dedicates her time now to the administrative aspects of the Center, to teaching Meditation Classes and individual client Reiki Energy Work.

Marianne is the author of Welcome To My World: Two Perspectives On One Life Lived.



Suzanne Grimm, M.D. 

 Psychiatrist

Dr. Grimm is a clinical psychiatrist with 10 years of experience practicing in Sheboygan, WI at the Sheboygan Clinic and Memorial Medical Center, Aurora.  She treats patients over the age of 21 and 'older' adults.  She believes psychotropic medications are a powerful adjunct in the battle against mental illness and enjoys working collaboratively with patients and their referring treaters.  In addition Dr. Grimm works with integrative medicine using the full range of therapies available to the patient in order to explore alternatives to medication if appropriate to the individual client.

Dr. Grimm is a graduate of The University of Iowa, College of Medicine in 1990 and completed her Psychiatric Residency and training at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry & Mental Health Sciences in 1996.  She is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Grimm's additional specializations are in Medication Management and Psychiatric Evaluation.


Kimberly Kuehl,
Registered Nurse

Kim Kuehl is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator. She graduated from Cardinal Stritch College in 1993 with a Nursing Degree. At the Wholistic Health Center she assists Dr. Grimm in her practice of psychiatry working closely with patients in collaboration with Dr. Grimm.

Kim has served the Sheboygan community at Aurora Sheboygan Clinic and Aurora Visiting Nurse Association. She began her nursing career at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee as a medical/surgical nurse and cardiac nurse.



Mary Kay Howie

MSW, LCSW, Psychotherapist

Mary Kay has been involved in Human Services since 1975.  She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin and specializes in helping families, couples and individuals solve problems in their lives.  Her approach is safe, gentle and caring.

In addition, Ms Howie is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).  EMDR is a therapeutic process for those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and for survivors of sexual abuse issues and dysfunctional family systems. She works with adult & children survivors of abuse, assault and domestic abuse with a trauma-informed approach. Mary Kay is a SAC (Substance Abuse Counselor) addressing alcohol & drug issues. 

Mary Kay is an excellent choice for those who want counseling through marital reconciliation or divorce. She sees clients of all ages for trauma, anxiety, depression, and adjustments to life's changes. Mary Kay is a certified Reiki practitioner, assisting clients to balance body-mind energy.

Mary Kay is a Medicare and Medicaid provider and accepts most major insurance plans, and personal payments of cash, check or credit card.



Lee Wick
MA, LCSW, Psychotherapist

Lee Wick is licensed by the state in professional counseling, independent clinical social work, and marriage and family counseling.  He holds certification in (AODA) alcohol and drug abuse counseling.  Lee has been in practice for 25+ years and provides a wide array of treatment modalities and alternative treatments.

His area of expertise includes treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders, eating disorders, child and teen behavioral problems, marriage and family problems, anger management, and treatment for those with alternative lifestyles.  He provides evaluation and treatment for ADD & ADHD.  Lee offers evaluation and assessment for career and college planning. He consults with business and industry in the areas of development, planning, and training.  Mr. Wick offers clinical hypnosis for depression, anxiety disorders, fears and phobias, weight management, smoking cessation, and pain reduction. In addition, he provides services to improve focus concentration in various sports.

Pam Hertel

MS, LCSW

Pam holds a BS Degree in Human Development (1975) and a MS Degree in Educational Psychology (1986) from the University of Wisconsin.  She was an In-Patient Mental Health Counselor from 1992-2001 providing services to patients and families on a hospital mental health unit.  She is past-President and CEO of the American Society of Mental Health Association Professionals, Inc.  She served as the Executive Director of the Mental Health Association in Sheboygan County for six years.

At the WHC Pam specializes in therapy and treatment for those experiencing depression, anxiety, adjustments to life challenges, divorce, relationship problems, parenting, behavioral problems or other clinical issues. Pam is also a certified Reiki Energy Practitioner in the Usui System.

David Aardappel
MSW, LCSW
David Aardappel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been helping people achieve their goals and dreams for over forty years. He earned his Masters in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and Two Year Post Graduate Certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy from the Family Institute of Chicago. He has served as the Regional Vice President, Area Director and Regional Coordinator for Lutheran Social Services and The Executive Director for FISC Consumer Credit Counseling Services.


At the WHC David uses a full range of treatment options in his counseling practice; Hypnosis, Rational Emotive Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Coaching. His therapy style is gentle, encouraging and supportive at the same time, insightful and educational. He works with children through older adults. He works with a full range of mood disorders, life adjustments, grief and marriage and family matters.

Elizabeth Schultz
MSW, LCSW

 

Elizabeth received a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Physical and Behavioral Health from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 2008. She completed an internship at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital, Dewey Center, a treatment center for Adult Chemical Dependency and a second internship at Women and Families’ Psychotherapy, a private mental health practice that specializes in family therapy. 

In the summer of 2009. Elizabeth worked in a therapeutic wilderness program for struggling teens and their families. She later served a one year national service term as an AmeriCorps Youth Counselor and provided psychotherapeutic services to Sheboygan County’s underserved youth. She uses diverse experiential methods in her practice that includes music and art techniques when appropriate.

Elizabeth sees clients of all ages and backgrounds, appreciating their diversity.  She is a Medicaid and Medicare Provider.


Jamey Johnston
Certified Acupuncturist

Jamey Johnston is a Wisconsin State Certified Acupuncturist and is Board Certified by NCCAOM.  He is a graduate of the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and holds a Master of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine.  He is a member of the Wisconsin Society of Certified Acupuncturists and served as the committee Chair in 2008.  He also holds membership in the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. 

With acupuncture Jamey treats pain effectively.  It is also used for conditions of the respiratory system, conditions of the eye and mouth, gastro-intestinal disorders, neurological and musculo-skeletal disorders and gynecological and uriogential disorders. 

Additionally, acupuncture is effective for quitting smoking, weight loss.



Tony Vogel
Licensed Occupational Therapist, 
Certified Bonnie Prudden Myotherapist, Certified Reflexologist
Tony received his Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at Concordia University in Wisconsin in 2005. He has been a certified reflexologist since 1984 and a certified myotherapist since 1986. He is a graduate of the School of Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy and is in private practice at Vogel Myotherapy in Manitowoc.  In addition, Tony has been associated with the WHC since 1988.


Brenda Worachek
LMT, State Licensed & Nationally Certified Massage Therapist

Brenda is a graduate of Blue Sky Educational Foundation and is certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.  She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is a state registered and licensed massage therapist.

Brenda has been in practice since 1998 and offers a wide range of therapeutic services.  In addition to Swedish Relaxation Massage, Brenda is also skilled in Lymphatic, Mothers Massage, Lomi Lomi, Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular Therapy.  All or some of which may be incorporated into your massage session to fit your specific needs.

Brenda and her family recently moved to the country and enjoy living close to the land, living wholistically as much as possible; gardening and preserving, raising chickens and making all natural laundry soap.  Together they truly appreciate and respect the earth and are thankful for all they have.



Sherry Lynch

LMT, State Licensed & Nationally Certified Massage Therapist

Sherry has been a practitioner of massage therapy and wellness since 1986.  She is a graduate of the Academy of Health Sciences and Sports Massage Training Institute located in California.  She has been an instructor of massage at Blue Sky Educational Foundation in Grafton, WI.

Sherry has served as the President of International Myomassethics Federation, Inc. and worked for state legislation for the registration of massage therapists to assure standards of the profession.  She is nationally certified by the IMF and holds membership in the American Massage Therapy Association.

Sherry offers a wide range of therapeutic services.  In addition to relaxation and stress release massage, she offers sports massage (pre- & post-training and rehabilitation), myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy.  She is available five days at week at the WHC.



Shelley Stoffel, LMT
State Licensed Massage Therapist
Nationally Certified Massage Therapist

Shelley has been a practitioner of massage therapy and wellness since 1999. She is a graduate of Blue Sky School of Professional Massage in Grafton, Wisconsin and is licensed in the State of Wisconsin.

Shelley offers a wide range of therapeutic services. In addition to relaxation and stress release massage, she offers sports massage (pre– & post-training and rehabilitation), neuromuscular therapy, lymphatic 
massage, deep tissue massage known as The Kapsos System. Her extensive range of therapeutic services may involve use of hot stones or essential oils.

In the past 10 years she has specialized in working with disabled and geriatric population in Sheboygan, Ozaukee and Milwaukee counties. She worked with individuals with MS, Cerebral palsy, cancer, paralysis and chronic health limitations from injuries. She is available Monday through Saturday at the WHC. 

Shelley has raised two sons and now spends time 
pursuing continued education in therapy related fields, especially cancer.  Shelley deeply cares for the wellness and health of her clients.
